The objective of this project was to design a mid-fi iOS prototype of the City of Chicago website. I focused my design exclusively on the City Services section of the City of Chicago website. The majority of content on the City of Chicago website is informational; the City Services section, in contrast, is task-based. Users can visit this section of the website to accomplish a variety of diverse tasks from reporting an abandoned car to applying for a business license. Streamlining the process of completing these tasks through an app seemed to be the best way to offer value to users.
There are a handful of “Most Used Online Services” underneath the “City Services” menu tab on the City of Chicago website. I designed user flows for two of these services that are "Most Used" – paying for parking tickets and looking up building violations.

NEXT STEPS
There are a few areas I would explore in a future iteration of this prototype:
-
User profiles – A number of services available in the app require a user’s name, contact information, and credit card information. It could be helpful for some users to create a user profile so that the app can automatically input their information.
-
“Favorite” or “Recently Visited” services – Users may want to add services they use frequently to a “Favorites” folder. Another option would be a “Recently Visited” section where users could see services they recently interacted with on the app.
